JoeJoe - SummerMix 2014
June 17, 2014 11:02 PM PDT
Ok- it's been a while since my last studio mix, and this time I'm bringing out something a little different. Straight up breaks- a mix of both new tracks and some of my old favorites twisted together into 60 minutes of driving beats and grinding bass. I like to think of this one as good car trip music, but it would also be well paired with a beer in the park on a sunny day. Holla!Ding Dong - Summer 2013 FnF Mix

Here's a rollicking good time of a set by our very own Ding Dong. 45 minutes of funky, housey goodness for your next road trip or poolside bash!Jess - Halloween 2013

Some funky house and breaks tracks collected for the 6:66 Halloween party November 3 in Oakland. If you were there that day you probably heard most of these, but some of them didn't make it into the set so here they all are in a fun studio mix.

Bump! Another summer is almost past, and so it's time to get this mix out the door. Started wayyyyyy back in October of 2012, this one was originally supposed to be a RipeCast but I couldn't pull it together in time for my slotted date. Or the next one... Or the next one... Seriously, it's been so long in the making/revision process there was even a Harlem Shake breakdown in an early version months before it went viral which obviously had to be struck from the mix
Ok- so it's the usual bevy of electro, hip-hop, and breaks with a good number of my own edits and mashes. I hope ya find it fun and rockin' and BUMP it far and wide.
In the words of Jay-Z, "Thanks for coming out tonight... you could've been anywhere in the world, but you're here with me... I appreciate that!"JoeJoe and Jess - The Rematchening - Live at 2 Crews 1 Cup 2 8/4/12

Here's one from last year, the rematch of Jess and JoeJoe for the "dirty" crown at 2 Crews 1 Cup. If you followed the first 2C1C, you'll know that we both kind of went over the top digging for and making tracks that were ridiculously dirty. Hell, JoeJoe played the first years' set with no pants on. But Jess totally won the tag team this year.
Note that there are very explicit lyrics in this one.Jess - Live at the BTx 6:66 2012

Next up in the sets from the BTx Halloween Renegade of 2012 is a fun, funky, dirty electro & breaks set from our very own Jess! Played and recorded around noon at Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland.Haute Mess - Live @ the Brass Tax 6:66 Halloween Party 2012

Now what have we here? A brick house? Kicking off the Halloween recordings, here is kick-ass DJ and newest Brass Tax resident Haute Mess (aka Kristen Sunde) playing a bouncy, rocking morning set. Crank it up and get down!

So I've really been digging the midtempo funky breaks lately. Whether you want to call it "Nu-Funk" or "Ghetto Funk" or whatever, it provides a nice background whomp to summertime pool parties, barbeques, and car trips. At around 112BPM, it's less demanding and more laid back than my usual fare; something to play when kicking back some beers in the backyard.
I put together Flight Level 380 over the past two months whilst traveling on a seemingly endless number of planes, buses, and trains across a vast tract of Europe. This one tends away from my own mashups/productions, but is in the same style as my typical DJ sets, blasting through 24 tracks in a brief 53 minutes. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

This mix was done last year, but I finally got around to posting it. Here we have an hour studio mix of some of my favorite drum and bass tracks, including a few of my own. Not too hard, not too soft, but just right for good time. Crank the bass and enjoy!
Please forgive the occasional fidelity changes, as there are a few whitelabels in here that probably never will see a digital release and I had to rip them from my worn down vinyl. I tried to clean them up as best I could.
Lovingly chunked, diced, smothered and covered in Ableton and Soundforge, and encoded -V0 VBR in winLAME.
